Baluán Sholák is one of the most celebrated wrestlers and akyns of the Kazakh steppe. A star of fairs, at 14 he was already defeating adult opponents and easily lifting a dozen pood kettlebells. But Baluan was not only a strongman, but also a brave man, a true patriot of the Kazakh land. When tension from the Russian Tsar intensifies and soldiers and settlers arrive in his aul, Baluan Sholák first tries to resolve the matter peacefully. But the plan fails. Baluan himself is to be captured, and he decides to take a desperate step to preserve his people's freedom.

Birzhan Sal chose his life path in childhood, making the dombra his faithful companion. He gained widespread fame due to his fantastic vocal abilities and virtuoso accompaniment skills. He was unwillingly drawn into intertribal disputes, faced persecution, experienced the agony of loneliness and the bittersweetness of his last love. Despite all the hardships, he remained true to himself and his true calling.

Mustafa Shokay, a prominent politician of the first half of the 20th century, aspired to unite the people of Central Asia into a large, peaceful Turkic state. His activities drew the attention of the totalitarian regime, and his ideas were labeled anti-Soviet. Mustafa Shokay had to flee, wandering through the Caucasus, Turkey, France with his loyal wife Maria, who sacrificed her brilliant opera career for him. Even far from his homeland, he lived for its needs and aspirations, doing everything possible and sometimes impossible to realize his idealistic dream of Turkestan's independence.

In 1967, students of the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute - Dos, Murat, Kamit, and Sanya - were destined to become one of the most renowned music bands of their time. Unaware of their future fame, they were sent to the Bayanaul district for construction works. Passionate about music, these future engineers formed an impromptu quartet, playing Kazakh melodies that won the hearts of Hungarian students, who named them 'Dos-Mukasan'. However, the road to fame is rarely easy. They faced numerous obstacles and misunderstanding from their loved ones before winning public recognition and love.

The majestic mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi captured the imagination, its blue domes rivalling the sky itself.
