Many years ago, a brave Kipchak youth named Unzhu was given a dangerous mission - to become a spy in Genghis Khan's army. The young warrior succeeded and over seven years, he rose from being a slave to a military leader, gathering information that could save his homeland. Upon returning to Khorezm, Unzhu reveals that Genghis Khan, having already conquered China, has turned his forces towards Central Asia. But no one believes him. Mongol agents spinning intrigue convince the Khorezm ruler that Genghis Khan has other plans. Unzhu stands by his words and is banished from Otrar. However, history will put everything in its place.

Among them is a young woman named Dinara. Her lover tries to dissuade her from this dangerous journey, but she is adamant. The young man then turns to his father, Marat Ayumov, a war veteran who lost his leg in Afghanistan, for help. However, Marat chooses a different approach: he volunteers to accompany the group as a guide, as he has unfinished business left there.
