The family of young Olzhas is engaged in horse breeding. One day, a gang of horse thieves deceitfully lure the father into a trap, kill him, and steal the herd. After the funeral, the boy's mother decides to leave their home village where she is openly disliked. But on the eve of departure, a mysterious stranger appears at the doorstep. He introduces himself as a herdsman and offers to help the family with the move. Olzhas, along with his two younger sisters and mother, set off on their journey. One day, when Zhantas discovers a poem Kozha wrote for his childhood crush Zhanar, he makes fun of him in front of the entire class. Facing such external and internal conflicts, Kozha and Sultan steal Karatai's motorcycle and run away, leading to a fight that results in the destruction of the motorcycle. Consequently, the village elders assemble to pass judgement on Kozha.
