Anelia is a student living in sunny California, but she has to return to her family in Kazakhstan for the summer holidays. After experiencing the glamour of American life, her hometown seems dull and boring. During one of these visits, she meets Daniel, a street musician barely getting by. Daniel is smitten with Anelia from the first glance. However, his advances, as a poor student, don't spark her interest. When she learns that Daniel is planning to perform at a rock festival with his band, she decides to give him a chance. The only problem is, Daniel doesn't have a band. All he has is a friend willing to lend a helping hand. Now they must form a band in the shortest possible time and perform worthily at the festival. The summer is nearing its end, and Anelia will soon have to return to America.
