In Northern Kazakhstan, a unique mining plant, known as the GOK, has become a prime target for foreign investors. However, the law prohibits the full transfer of state enterprises to foreigners. This doesn't deter a corrupt oligarch with controlling interest in GOK from illegally planning to sell it to a Chinese investor. Local authorities turn a blind eye as they've long been bought by the oligarch. But the plant's director opposes this savage deal, knowing that if it goes through, 300 workers will lose their jobs and livelihood. Yet, fighting corruption could prove deadly for him.
