TV series The Conquest of Siberia (2020) is the first large-scale historical drama about the formation of Siberia. The beginning of the 18th century. Knyaz Gagarin rules over almost the entire Asian part of Russia from Tobolsk. The major part of the income comes from trading with China. Peter I needs the money for his war against the Swedes. The knyaz also has a profit. But the Chinese start a war against the Mongolians and block the caravans from Siberia. In exchange for restoring the trade, they want Russia to become their ally.
