Сипаттамасы
In the 1930s, victims of persecutions and repressions were brought to the vast Kazakh steppes by wagons. Koreans, Armenians, Kurds, Chechens, Germans and Meskhetian Turks - all were forcibly deported and deprived of their homeland. Kazakhstanis, who were still recovering from the 'Great Famine', warmly welcomed the newcomers, helping them survive hunger and despair. Among them were the deportees of the 'Bright Path' collective farm, discarded by the railway like unwanted rubbish. The active and assertive chairman, Orynbaı Berbengulov, could not ignore this. He began to resettle the immigrants, helping them establish their lives, like enrolling a talented Chechen boy in a dance school. However, not everyone appreciated his noble deeds.
